Developing New partnerships
Housing & Community Services ACT (Housing ACT) is a division of the Department of Disability, Housing and Community Services, which is responsible for the provision of public housing and community services in the Territory.

Housing ACT has more than 11,500 housing properties throughout Canberra, which totals 8% of the total housing stock3 public and community housing properties. In the ACT community housing is governed by a Regulatory Code, BlueCHP is seeking ACT provider Registration.

BlueCHP and member organisation, Argyle Community Housing are working with Housing ACT to expand their current operations to the ACT. Growing the current BlueCHP/Argyle community housing portfolio under management in Queanbeyan and nearby locations will provide economies of scale, enabling better value and efficiency in their operations to be achieved through this growth.

Argyle’s experience and unique place based approach to tenancy management and community engagement will provide more choice for people living in the ACT. Choice will include greater opportunities for tenants to access the community supports they need and / or want to improve their individual circumstances. This tenancy management model combined with BlueCHP’s property development expertise will position both organisations well to make a valued and meaningful contribution to growing affordable housing in the national capital. There are projects in the pipeline which will be posted once negotiations are finalised.
